11 Elon Musk Quotes That Will Make You Reconsider What Is Possible

When something is important enough, you do it even if the odds are not in your favor. It is possible for ordinary people to choose to be extraordinary. The first step is to establish that something is possible then probability will occur. Patience is a virtue, and I’m learning patience. It’s a tough lesson. I think that’s the single best piece of advice: constantly think about how you could be doing things better and questioning yourself. Some people don’t like change, but you need to embrace change if the alternative is disaster. If you get up in the morning and think the future is going to be better, it is a bright day. Otherwise, it’s not. Life is too short for long-term grudges. I take the position that I’m always to some degree wrong, and the aspiration is to be less wrong. People should pursue what they’re passionate about. That will make them happier than pretty much anything else. I don’t create companies for the sake of creating companies, but to get things done.

How to Make America Great Again in 10 Steps

By AC After “How to Make a Cardboard Box Disappear in 10 Steps” by Clint Smith Build walls to emphasize borders. Send out hateful messages and sign harmful executive orders. Create division and racial tension within a nation. Split up families and kick out Dreamers with no valid justification. Treat women like objects or second class citizens. (It’s not like they carry life within them and have the gift to give life or anything anyway.) Create diplomatic confusion internally, while stirring up economic chaos nationally. Open the eyes of The People so we can all see that there is something very wrong with us all. Unite all races and genders against you and your ways. Realize that it’s not you that makes this country great, it’s the diverse people within it and the daily sacrifices they are willing to endure to keep the American Dream alive. Move aside. Let anyone else attempt to fix the mess you’ve made.

21 Quotes That Will Give You Courage When You Need It Most

Courage isn’t always easy to come by. The entertainment industry is increasingly breeding these exalted heroines who seemingly effortlessly battle their way through every challenge without even batting an eyelash or smudging their mascara. Whether it’s sword-swinging Alice, bow-bearing Katniss or bat-swinging Harley Quinn, many female protagonists are portrayed as these indestructible women overflowing with so much courage that they probably eat adversity for breakfast, crap bravery, and don’t need quotes about courage to get them moving. What happened to their human flaws? Why are they portrayed as perfect? I call bull. The fact is that finding courage in the face of adversity is sometimes really hard to come by. And that’s for anyone — men and women alike. This perfect woman who NEVER fears is just plain unrealistic. REAL people are dynamic. REAL people have fear. REAL people get scared, hold themselves back and second-guess themselves. In reality, courage is hard! It’s not called a HARDship for nothing. That’s the beauty of life! When times get tough, the tough get going. It isn’t always pretty or perfect. But putting your best foot forward and still going for it is what makes a strong woman strong. You don’t have to […]

25 Abraham Lincoln Quotes to Make You Want to Be a Better Person

One of America’s greatest politicians, most respected and beloved personalities, Abraham Lincoln was the 16th president of the United States. Lincoln’s story is a remarkable one. Born into a humble family with illiterate parents, he got from being a shopkeeper to holding the highest office. While being president, Lincoln led his people through the Civil War, the costliest war in the history of the U.S., and made major decisions on the Union war strategy. He fought for equal rights, liberty, and democracy. Those hard and bloody times led to the abolition of slavery and made the economy flourish. Switching to merrier times, Abraham Lincoln was also the one to establish Thanksgiving as a national holiday. That big turkey wouldn’t have had the same appeal without Thanksgiving, would it? From a great man of significant accomplishments, a big heart with a bigger voice, here are 25 Abraham Lincoln quotes to make you cherish honor and become a better person. My concern is not whether God is on our side; my greatest concern is to be on God’s side, for God is always right. I’m a success today because I had a friend who believed in me and I didn’t have the […]

22 Frederick Douglass Quotes to Make You Fight to Stop Ignorance From Prevailing

Frederick Douglass is widely known as one of the most vocal defenders of human rights in the anti-slavery movement. Douglass’ ideological opposition to slavery began to take shape after he was taught to read and write. Education was banned for slaves, but in spite of this, his slaveholder Sophia Auld decided to teach him the alphabet when he was around the age of 12. Not long after, her husband forbade her from teaching, but that didn’t stop Douglass who continued to seek learning opportunities wherever they may arise. Frederick Douglass went on to write several autobiographies — the most famous of which being Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass — openly describing his own experiences as a slave. Later on, he went on to become the first African-American citizen to hold a high U.S. government rank. Even after the Civil War was over, Douglass continued his campaign against slavery and has strengthened the idea according to which slaves weren’t able to function as independent American citizens because they were denied the access to education, not because they lacked the intellectual capacity. And he was the living proof of these arguments. Opposing such a deeply rooted system, rising alone against […]

21 Bob Dylan Quotes to Help You Mold Your Own Way of Thinking

Bob Dylan is one of the most influential and complex artists of our times. He’s a singer, songwriter, musician, author and painter. His work dates back more than five decades and is mostly known for exploring social and political issues. Dylan became the “voice of a generation” and sold over 100 million records, becoming one of the best-selling artists of all time. His humble beginnings date back to performing folk and country songs at local cafés while he was still a student. That’s when he took the name ‘Bob Dillon’, which was inspired by the main character from a very popular Western TV series back then – Gunsmoke. Although many thought the pseudonym was inspired by the poet Dylan Thomas, Bob later said that it had nothing to do with it and that he actually dislikes the author. In the early 2000s, Dylan decided to take a break from music to have enough time to write down his life story, publishing the first volume of Chronicles in 2004. Bob Dylan is the winner of Grammy, Golden Globe and Academy awards and also received the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2012. Later, in 2016, he was the first artist primarily seen as […]

Speak Child Speak

By MS For my daughter Speak, child, speak, hold not your tongue because the question that you ask, the answer that it brings may be the solution that saves us all Speak, child, speak Because ignorance is not bliss, it is apathy to the mind. It is the residue of stagnant thoughts that destroys itself fully with the passions of time & stagnation is death to young & old minds. Speak, child, speak, your voice may be the one that touches the world & shapes reality into a paradise that women, men, & children may grow & peacefully live in. Speak, child, speak, Because my voice is old & un-remembered. It is the weeping in the bowels of coffin ships & it is the creak of rope & wind & silent kingdoms swaying in a sultry southern breeze, it is the shackles of falsehoods binding me to inferior thoughts of mental slavery, It is the sound of a fast life lived & lost in court rooms silently weeping in cells trying to escape my self-created hell. Speak, child, speak, Because you are the Grace of God & the Dreams of a Nation. SPEAK, CHILD, SPEAK

By HF What is WOKE in this day and age Is it simply activism only from a social media page? Is it an afro and a pick? An Olympic stage raised clinched fist Consciously eating organic kale salad While digesting an Erykah Badu ballad Is it Nat Turner’s unspoken rage? An Angela Davis gaze Is it a national anthem knee? What is WOKE in the 21st Century? What does it mean to be WOKE? Is it the audacity to have hope? The subtle militancy of Malcolm X’s ghost Political satire at an extreme right wing roast Pledging allegiance to a black body swinging from a tree Being WOKE is strange fruit in the 21st Century Is being WOKE something confined to the tongue, Or the manacles of the miseducation of the Negro becoming undone? The souls of black folk arising from a collective slumber A raisin in the sun transcending the shade of the summer Is it something we can taste, touch, see, hear, or feel? Or is it only a vision our united third eye makes real? What is the price we pay for being sound asleep? Is it gentrification cultural misappropriation of being WOKE in this 21 Century?

25 Pope John Paul II Quotes to Make You Fight for What You Believe In

Pope John Paul II (18 May 1920 – 2 April 2005) was head of the Catholic Church for 27 years (between 1978 and 2005), being the second-longest serving Pope in modern history after Pope Pius IX. Karol Józef Wojtyła, by his real name, is often referred to as Saint John Paul the Great by many Catholics. He earned this title not just by being a religious figure, but by significantly improving the Catholic Church’s relations with the Orthodox Church, Islam, Judaism and the Anglican Communion. His dream was to create a religious alliance between all denominations. Pope John Paul II was involved in preventing Catholic sex abuse stating that “there is no place in the priesthood and religious life for those who would harm the young.” He supported the use of artificial contraception, the ordination of women, and also fought against organized crime. Of course, he was highly criticized by many bishops and traditionalists for being too unconventional and too direct, but he never stopped fighting for what he believed in. So here are 25 Pope John Paul II quotes to make you stand up and fight for what is right. The future starts today, not tomorrow. Do not be […]
