Celebrity chef and TV personality Anthony Bourdain took his cooking career to another level by becoming a bestselling author and a TV personality.
Sadly, on June 8, 2018, Bourdain was found dead of an apparent suicide in his hotel room in Strasbourg, France.
Born on June 25, 1956, Bourdain made a name for himself after The New Yorker published his article “Don’t Eat Before Reading This” in 1997. Ever since then, he has had a flourishing career hosting TV shows such as A Cook’s Tour– a show about Anthony’s exotic food experiences traveling around the world; and No Reservations, which explored similar themes.
His show Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown has won several Emmys. Bourdain also participated as a guest on Bravo’s Top Chef and as a main judge on Top Chef All-Stars.
He has written several books, including Kitchen Confidential: Adventures in the Culinary Underbelly, which was turned into a short-lived sitcom starring Bradley Cooper.
Bourdain’s love for traveling, good food and drinks made him a wonderful storyteller.
