The pain of seeing someone you love with someone else is awful, but survivable.
If you’ve ever had a crush, you know this feeling. That person you like is suddenly going out with someone else. You can’t believe it. After giving yourself all those pep talks in the mirror to ask them out, some guy/girl swoops in and steals your crush away. So now what?
Having your crush taken by someone else is a weird feeling. It’s like having the partial pain of a breakup without actually breaking up with someone.
You tell yourself that they’re the one for you as you find your gaze constantly drifting toward them, but at the same time you can’t seem to build up the courage to tell them your feelings. Then, when it’s all taken away, you feel devastated.
There are a few things you can do to get past this. One would be to find another crush (which is easier said than done). Another way would be to shoot your shot anyways and hope for the best (I wouldn’t recommend this). You could also try just going on a date to maybe at least get your mind off your previous love interest.
Regardless of which route you choose to take, it’s clear that it’s time to move on. Continuing to obsess over someone isn’t going to change anything except turn you into a stalker. Instead, try to figure out what your next best option is. Of course there are a few things you should do automatically, like, don’t suddenly be cold to the person you liked because that sends the wrong message. Just be yourself.
Now if none of those work for you, there’s always the words of wisdom of the ones who came before you (or just the people with more experience). Listen to the wise people who said these quotes about heartbreak, because they’re going to help you get over that crush.
Take a look at the healing quotes below that talk about the kind of courage it takes to move on from love so you can get your head back in the game and find someone even better.
