Looking back on all he stood for.
Cameron Boyce, born May, 28 1999 in Los Angeles, California. His Grandmother on his fathers side, Jo Ann Allen Boyce, was one of the Clinton 12 — a group of African American teens who were admitted into the first integrated high school in the south, due to a new law passed by Brown vs. The Board of Education.
Boyce grew up acting, and made his first on screen appearance in a Panic at the Disco music video, The Greene Gentleman (Things Have Changed) in 2008. He played the younger version of the bands guitarist Ryan Ross.
From there he went on to take a role playing Adam Sandler’s son in Grown Ups, which premiered in 2010. That same year, Boyce being a talented break dancer, went on to compete in The Legion Of Extraordinary Dancers.
It was then Disney began to take notice. The next year he took a guest starring role on the hit TV show Good Luck Charlie. He had a bit role in the movie Judy Moody and the Not Bummer Summer. He was a featured dancer on the show Shake It Up.
It was from there he was cast as his “fame-making” role as Luke Ross in the hit series Jesse. During the audition process he was auditioning for a smaller role, but the casting directors were so impressed by his talent, they created this new role, just for him!
From there he went on to be cast in Disney’s The Descendants and The Descendants Wicked World, Descendants 2 and Descendants 3 where he starred as Carlos, son of Cruella de Vil. The third film will be released after his death.
Cameron Boyce died at age 20 on July 6, 2019. His family released a statement saying that he died in his sleep due to an ongoing medical condition for which he was being treated.
