15 Confident Quotes To Help You Embrace Your Curves & Love Your Healthy Body — As Is

< ?xml encoding="utf8mb4" ?>

Love the skin you’re in (and forget about the scale).

Actions speak louder than words. That means, instead of constantly looking in the mirror and thinking to yourself, “Why do I have curves,” go to your closet, whip out that tight dress and embrace every inch of your body.

There is nothing wrong with having a little extra junk in the trunk. Just like there is nothing wrong with being a size 0 or a size 12.

Living a life where being ashamed of your body is the norm is not a way to live – look to your curves as a powerful tool.

You are strong and can fill out those skinny jeans perfectly. All sizes are created equal, so just because your friend may be three sizes smaller than you doesn’t make her body any better. They say we are always wanting what we don’t have, but maybe what we need is right in front of us. Your body is beautifully made.

I know practicing self-love is easier said than done; we want to embrace our curves but can’t help comparing our bodies to the models on Instagram or Victoria Secret ads.

A Victoria Secret model’s body is beautiful in its own way. Your body is built wonderfully and there is no room for comparison in your mind. The only thoughts that should float in are, “I’m hot, I’m worthy, and I’m deserving of every curve on my body.”

I know how hard it can be to accept your body for what it is; I am a 5 foot nothing, curvalicious woman who sometimes wishes she didn’t have to go three jean sizes to fit her thighs into her pants. But, once those jeans are on I feel powerful, regardless of size.

Here are 15 confident quotes about loving you body, loving your curves and living a healthy, happy lifestyle to remind you how perfect your curves are. Just in case my speech wasn’t motivation enough.

1. Always and everyday

“I stand in awe of my body.” – Henry David Thoreau

2. Make yourself a little revolutionary

“The most revolutionary thing you can do is love your body.” – Unknown

3. The only opinion that matters is yours

“There is nothing wrong with your body, but there is a lot wrong with the messages which try to CONVINCE you otherwise.” – Rae Smith

25 Quotes That Prove Being Single Is FUN & Should Be Celebrated — Not A Reason To Be Sad

< ?xml encoding="utf8mb4" ?>

25 quotes that show you why being single isn’t a bad thing.

The other day I was scrolling through facebook and looking at random blog posts and articles and I saw 3 or 4 articles in a row talking about being single and sad. They talked about how to reel in the perfect guy, how to cope with being single, how to make sure you make the right impression and how to give off signs that you’re open and available.

Part of me wondered why, all of a sudden, being single seen as such a negative thing?

Single life can sometimes be lonely, for obvious reasons. We are social creatures, and we love being cozy with someone we love, which can make it hard to be alone. It’s natural to crave that kind of closeness and intimacy that comes with romantic relationships.

But, honestly, single life can also be one of the best things to happen to you — especially if you’re leaving a toxic relationship or taking some time to find yourself.

Being single doesn’t mean there’s something wrong with you or that you’ll never fall in love. It just means that you’re content on your own and able to take time for yourself.

Being single means you can eat half a gallon of ice cream without sharing, and you get to prioritize your own wants and needs without having to make compromises. What’s so bad about that?

The truth is that I don’t want a man in my life if I don’t think he will genuinely make my life better by being a part of it. I would rather stay single and content with the life I’ve built for myself than deal with a relationship that doesn’t add to my life in a positive way.

There is something to be said for taking the time to just enjoy your life and be happy on your own.

I’ll be honest, I didn’t understand why people say that you have to love yourself before you love someone else for a long time. But, when you’re happy with who you are and the life you live, you have a much more solid base walking into a relationship when you’re ready. And the other thing is that just because there’s someone around that you COULD date, doesn’t mean you should.

Staying single isn’t a bad choice.

Being single isn’t a bad thing, …

25 ‘You Are Beautiful’ Quotes To Tell Someone How Special They Are

< ?xml encoding="utf8mb4" ?>

We all need to be reminded how awesome we are.

I’m often guilty of listening to self-doubt and my insecurities about my appearance. You know that little voice in your head that tells you you’re noticeably bloating, that your acne is preventing you from making friends or that your I-really-want-this-job-so-I-hope-I’m-impressing-you laugh sounds too fake? Sometimes, the voice isn’t so “little.”

Silencing that voice is nearly impossible for me because I can hear it even if it’s on mute. It’s like it added captions to my everyday life, which wouldn’t be terrible except that they block my vision. I kid you not, the words “you’re fat” were written across my waiter’s forehead once, forcing me to order a tiny salad instead of what I really wanted to eat.

It’s getting out of hand, but I find solace in the moments I can push past the self-doubt and consider how everyone else must be feeling.

I mean, have you ever looked at a complete stranger and realized that their life is just as complicated and messed up as yours? It’s humbling.

It’s called sonder. That random woman sipping tea by the window in your favorite coffee shop? She could be waiting for her blind date to arrive. That man wearing sunglasses inside? He might be an undercover cop trying to solve someone’s murder. OK, maybe not, but my point is that everyone has something going on.

Everyone has a life, and everyone doubts themselves on occasion. If you take a minute to observe the people around you — I mean really look — you might start to see the beauty in others and begin to recognize it in yourself.

Of course, it’s not easy to overlook, or accept, your flaws, but it’s necessary. Helping others see the beauty in themselves is one of the best things you can do with your time, and it’s a win-win situation. So, next time you think someone needs a pick-me-up, share the love with these quotes that let people know they are special.

1. Because every woman is a queen.

“Be the woman who fixes another woman’s crown, without telling the world that it was crooked.”  — The Funny Beaver

30 Inspirational Quotes About Confidence To Remind You That It’s Always Better To Just Be Yourself

< ?xml encoding="utf8mb4" ?>

No one else is like you.

Everyone struggles with self-confidence and longs to find out who they really are but it’s not as easy as it sounds.

We have all experienced insecurities and questioned our worth from an early age. Supposedly, this kind of self-doubt ends after high school or college and you emerge a confident and unshakeable human being with no major flaws.

Not.

We face this kind of self-doubt in every stage of our lives. Finding out who you are isn’t easy in the first place, and being confident enough to just be authentically who you were meant to be at all times is almost impossible. We are constantly surrounded by the pressures of society and are left comparing ourselves to the people around us.

The simple fact of the matter is that being yourself is a lifelong struggle, although some phases of life may be harder than others. There’s no point where we just click into ourselves and become automatically confident in everything that we are. There’s no magic confidence potion, I’ve looked (although I have to confess, tequila comes as close as anything).

Being a human being is all about building the life you want and becoming who you want to be. You’ll undoubtedly make a million mistakes along the way, doubt yourself at every turn, and get lost in your own hopes for yourself but that’s OK! That’s part of being human! The most important thing is to keep chipping away at it, to keep growing and to keep trying. You’re a work in progress.

When you need a little inspiration to be unapologetically you, turn to quotes. Words from others who have gone through exactly what you have are often an easy source of motivation.

Here are 30 quotes to remind you to always be yourself!

1. You are you for a reason.

“Never apologize for being yourself.” — Paulo Coelho

2. No one else is like you.

“Be yourself because an original is worth more than a copy.” — Unknown

3. Don’t be afraid to be different.

“It takes nothing to join the crowd. It takes everything to stand alone.” — Hans Hansen

4. You can’t compete with one-of-a-kind.

“If you’re able to be yourself, then you have no competition.” — Barbara Cook

5. You’re irreplaceable.

“Own who you are.” — Unknown

6. Let your beauty shine.

19 Quotes About How To Deal With Judgmental People That Prove You Should Never Care About What Everyone Else Thinks

< ?xml encoding="utf8mb4" ?>

Society is so judgemental.

When I was younger, I was well known for being the quiet one in any given group. I preferred my books to the people around me, making more time to read than anything else. In fact, when I was in sixth grade, my English teacher at the time pulled me out of class to suggest I read a little less and told me my reading habits were the reason I didn’t have many friends. Ironic, right?

I’m one of those people who grew up quickly, maturing faster than my peers and blessed with the intelligence to back myself up. I was nerdy, with big plastic framed glasses. I dressed like a PTA mom at age 12 and loved musical theater more than anything. I was an easy, gawky target.

If you were to flash forward a few years and drive about 2 hours north, you’d find me a quarter away from graduating from the college of my dreams and living it up with my friends in spare seconds.

I’m explaining this because I’ve been teased, bullied, and mocked my whole life.

When I was younger, it was over the stupid little things. In some instances, I look back and laugh, almost agreeing with my bullies. Those glasses were the opposite of a fashion statement and I was totally pretentious and snobby.

I thought it would end after high school. That’s what everyone told me. Instead, outright bullying turned into whispered judgments and accusations. My ripped jeans became a neon sign that I was a “whore”, my weekends spent with my long distance boyfriend translated to me sleeping around, my occasional screwdrivers with roommates meant that I was a party animal. The first time I was drunk, my ex accused me of being an alcoholic. My willingness to speak for feminist issues signified the fact that I was actually a child hater who wanted to tear down the institution of marriage. Me choosing to go to college meant I would never settle down.

We see these judgments ALL THE TIME — and I’m sick of it.

You could probably share a similar story, one in which choices you made came back to reflect on you in a way more negative way than they were intended. It happens in seconds, and then it’s too late to fix.

Society is a judgemental place. Things are done a certain way, …

25 Self-Worth Quotes To Look Back On Every Time You Start To Doubt Yourself

< ?xml encoding="utf8mb4" ?>

You ARE worthy.

When you look in the mirror, what do you see?

Do you see someone who is strong and can overcome every obstacle standing in their way? Someone who is beautiful inside and out? Someone who is powerful beyond measure? Or… do you see someone who is not worthy of love? Someone who is not capable of succeeding? Someone who is broken?

Your answer to these questions has a lot to do with your self-worth. Self-worth is defined as having confidence in one’s abilities. This can include your ability to accomplish your dreams or to overcome any challenge.

Even on your worst days you never stop believing that you are a winner.

You are comfortable with everything that makes you, you. In turn, you expect the people in your life to recognize your value. Your confidence forces them treat you like the Goddess you are. They know that you are undeserving of anything less than greatness.

If you are the woman who knows her worth and makes no apologies for it, then you go girl! If you are the woman who doubts herself as we all do from time to time, then you still go girl! A little doubt just means there is room to prove yourself wrong.

Make the decision to actively find ways to help increase your self-worth. That is the first step. One way you can do this is by reading or reciting quotes about self-worth to remind you of how great you are. There is nothing sexier than a woman who believes in herself. She appears to be more happy, positive, successful and resilient. Strive every day to be that woman. You are amazing. You are worthy. You are loved.

If you at any point you start doubting your abilities, here are 25 self-worth quotes about self-love to build your self-esteem.

1. You are more than enough.

“You are good enough, smart enough, beautiful enough, and strong enough. Believe it and never let insecurity run your life.”  Unknown

2. Believe in yourself.

“Believe in yourself and all that you are. Know that there is something inside you that is greater than any obstacle.” — Christian D. Larson

“I know what I bring to the table… so trust me when I say I’m not afraid to eat alone.”  Unknown

4. You are powerful and in control of your life.

20 Confidence Quotes to Help you Believe in Yourself

< ?xml encoding="utf8mb4" ?>

If we should define self-confidence in a few words, we can refer to it as the ability to trust oneself and one’s capabilities of reaching a goal. It means feeling good about who you are despite external circumstances.

While some people seem to naturally have it, many of us only dream of becoming confident one day. However, confidence is tricky. A lack of it affects our emotional and mental well-being – it might transform us into pessimists, we’ll have trouble dealing with failure, we’ll experience social anxiety and automatically be more stressed.

On the other hand, there seems to be a fine line between confidence and arrogance, as many of us confuse the two. Arrogance is actually false confidence and it’s usually destructive. There’s nothing wrong with trusting your capabilities; it’s one of the ingredients for success. The problem is creating the impression of being confident – this will only lead to a negative response.

Confidence can be developed and reading a good set of quotes can teach you in an instant something that others have learned in a lifetime.

Here are 20 confidence quotes to remind you how incredible you can be.

What could we accomplish if we knew we could not fail? – Eleanor Roosevelt

Always be yourself and have faith in yourself. Do not go out and look for a successful personality and try to duplicate it. — Bruce Lee

It is confidence in our bodies, minds, and spirits that allows us to keep looking for new adventures. — Oprah Winfrey

If you hear a voice within you say ‘you cannot paint,’ then by all means paint, and that voice will be silenced. –Vincent Van Gogh

Love yourself first and everything else falls into line. You really have to love yourself to get anything done in this world. – Lucille Ball

With realization of one’s own potential and self-confidence in one’s ability, one can build a better world. – Dalai Lama

Trust yourself. Create the kind of self that you will be happy to live with all your life. Make the most of yourself by fanning the tiny, inner sparks of possibility into flames of achievement. — Golda Meir

No one can make you feel inferior without your consent. – Eleanor Roosevelt

Just believe in yourself. Even if you don’t, pretend that you do and, at some point, you will. – Venus Williams

25 Quotes About Self-Love To Remind You That You Are SO Worth It

< ?xml encoding="utf8mb4" ?>

The most important relationship you’ll have is with yourself.

Self-love is the most important type of love on Earth. Why? Because you must learn how to love yourself before you can love others. You can’t love someone else without loving yourself first.

Many people crave love from others. They’ll search for it like crazy, but what they really need to do is find love within themselves.

When you learn to love yourself, you gain respect for yourself and you start to know your worth. Loving yourself first means realizing what you deserve and knowing that you don’t NEED someone else’s love to feel whole.

If you don’t love who you are, people can see right through that and they’ll start to take advantage. You’ll find yourself in toxic, manipulative and controlling relationships because others will feel like they can walk all over you. If you truly loved yourself, you wouldn’t let people treat you that way.

So how do you learn to truly love yourself?

The road to self-love doesn’t happen overnight. It’s a long and powerful journey. They’ll be days when you feel more confident and happy than usual and days when you can’t stand looking at that person in the mirror. It’s all normal and it’s all a learning process.

It’s important to take baby steps. For example, look in the mirror and give yourself at least one compliment each day. You’ll start to believe what you’re saying and see the beauty within yourself.

Take care of yourself and do things that make you happy. Wear clothes that make you feel beautiful and let that confidence soar. People will start to take notice and the love you have for yourself will begin to grow more and more every day.

You deserve the world, but you need to truly believe that first. Once you start focusing on loving yourself, everything else will start falling into place. To help lead you on the path of loving yourself, here are 25 quotes about self-love.

1. When you don’t care about the haters.

“Self-love is the greatest middle finger of all time.” — Unknown

2. When the love for yourself just keeps growing.

“That’s the beautiful thing about self-love — you wear it like a dress and it becomes more and more exquisite with time.” — April Green

3. It’s never too late to start loving yourself more.

“I am new here.

25 Feel-Good Quotes About Being Single To Keep You Happy (& Thriving!) Through Valentine’s Day

< ?xml encoding="utf8mb4" ?>

Single looks good on you.

In a society where a high value is placed on relationships, it can be hard to be single.

As a single person it can become easy to doubt your worth and feel like you aren’t good enough to be loved. This can cause you to feel scarily alone. After some time, you might begin to accept that maybe relationships just aren’t for you. You make peace with that up until February rolls around.

February is the month of Valentine’s Day, and while everyone gets excited to celebrate love and affection, you get sad. The day is a reminder that you still don’t have a lover.

When you start to feel like this, take a deep breath and then snap out of it. This is the critical moment in which you must decide if you are going to either feel sorry for yourself or if you are going to realize how bomb you are. Hopefully you’ll choose the latter option.

Being single is not for the weak. It is for the people who are strong and committed to bettering themselves. It is for people who realize their worth and who would therefore rather be alone than to settle for less than they deserve.

So look at the bright side of things and think about all the benefits that single life has to offer. You have complete and utter freedom to do whatever you want whenever you want. You get the opportunity to learn more about yourself, your likes, dislikes, strengths and weaknesses. You realize that your happiness is dependent upon no one, and you get the best sleep at night knowing this. Most importantly, you learn to love and approve of yourself.

In case you start to get the urge to feel bad about yourself or get the urge to jump into a relationship just for the sake of it, here are 25 quotes to remind you of how great being single can truly be and how strong and beautiful you have to be to thrive and survive during this time.

1. The wait might be long but it’ll be worth it.

“Stay single until someone actually compliments your life in a way that makes it better to not be single. If not, it’s not worth it.” — Unknown

Because we can never have enough reminders to love ourselves just as we are, below are some of the best celebrity self-love quotes ever uttered.

“I always get asked, ‘Where do you get your confidence?’ I think people are well meaning, but it’s pretty insulting. 23 Aretha Franklin Quotes to Gain Confidence

< ?xml encoding="utf8mb4" ?>

The natural woman, Aretha Franklin, multiple Grammy Award-winner and the ‘Queen of Soul’, said a little prayer and sent it right into our ears and hearts.

Aretha, a talented pianist with a powerful voice, began her career as a child, singing gospel at her father’s church.

At the age of 14, Franklin became a mother for the first time, and at 16 she had her second child. No matter the difficulties she had to overcome, she still managed to find her way back and triumph in the world of music. Later, Aretha Franklin earned the “Queen of Soul” title and also stood as a symbol of black empowerment during the civil rights movement.

Back in 1987, Aretha was the first female artist to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as one of the greatest talents in the American Culture.

This year the Queen of Soul announced the release of a new album in collaboration with Stevie Wonder. Can’t wait to listen to it! Until then, here are 23 Aretha Franklin quotes to help you gain confidence and become one hell of a woman.

The man who gets me is getting one hell of a woman.

I sing to the realists. People who accept it like it is.

If a song’s about something I’ve experienced or that could’ve happened to me it’s good. But if it’s alien to me, I couldn’t lend anything to it. Because that’s what soul is all about.

I’ve always felt that rock & roll was very, very wholesome.

Every birthday is a gift. Every day is a gift.

Being the Queen is not all about singing, and being a diva is not all about singing. It has much to do with your service to people. And your social contributions to your community and your civic contributions as well.

Music does a lot of things for a lot of people. It’s transporting, for sure. It can take you right back, it’s uplifting, it’s encouraging, it’s strengthening.

We all require and want respect, man or woman, black or white. It’s our basic human right.

Politics are not my arena. Music is.

Sometimes, what you’re looking for is already there.

People really don’t have to give you anything, so appreciate what people give you.

You cannot define a person on just one thing. You can’t just forget all these wonderful and good things that a

21 Thich Nhat Hanh Quotes to Help You Transform Negative Emotions

thich hahn quotes - 21 Thich Nhat Hanh Quotes to Help You Transform Negative Emotions

Negative emotions can be nothing short of overwhelming.

Negative emotions have a way of affecting — even controlling — us to where it seems impossible to escape their influence. To the overwhelming sensation of anger to the deep reservoir created by sadness, emotions are one of the most powerful forces known to humankind. It goes without saying, then, that we’d want a way to help manage these challenging emotions. However, for most of us, we’re altogether unsuccessful.

But there’s much that we can do. And few people understand how to take control of negative emotions and manage difficult conditions as Zen master Thich Nhat Hanh does.

I discovered Zen master Thich Nhat Hanh over seven years ago when I was training in the martial arts.

I was obsessed with Bruce Lee at the time and had been for many years. What most people don’t know about Bruce, though, is that he was as much a philosopher as he was a martial artist. And he drew great inspiration from Zen Buddhism.

It was through Bruce that I eventually found Nhat Hanh, who was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize by Martin Luther King, Jr. and has served as an example for several decades of what’s possible not only when we work on ourselves from within, emotionally and in pursuit of happiness, but also when we work together towards peace.

Through his writing, Thich Nhat Hanh introduced me to the practice of mindfulness, which has had a significant effect on my life and he has a wealth of wisdom for helping people deal with negative emotions, more than anyone I know.

Here are twenty-one incredible quotes from Thich Nhat Hanh to help you transform negative emotions and live a happier, more peaceful, and more balanced life.

I would not look upon anger as something foreign to me that I have to fight… I have to deal with my anger with care, with love, with tenderness, with nonviolence.

To take good care of ourselves, we must go back and take care of the wounded child inside of us. You have to practice going back to your wounded child every day. You have to embrace him or her tenderly, like a big brother or a big sister. You have to talk to him, talk to her. And you can write a letter to the Little child in you, of two or three pages,
