Free Movies for JioFiber Customers: Now, Watch movies at your home the same day they released

Free Movies for JioFiber Customers: Mukesh Ambani on Monday unveiled the plans for his fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) broadband service, JioFiber, wrapped with a host of goodies like lifetime-free voice calls and plans that offer free high-end TV sets and set-top boxes. He shared the ideas at the 42nd annual general meeting of Reliance Industries. He has bundled JioFiber with subscriptions to leading premium video streaming services and intends to introduce a disruptive concept for watching new movies.

“Premium JioFiber customers will be able to watch movies in their living rooms the same day these movies are released in theatres,” he announced.

The commercial launch of the service is set for September 5 and the monthly plans start from Rs 700 and go up to Rs 10,000. While JioFiber has shown a promising proposition, experts feel it will not disrupt the media industry the way Jio had disrupted the telecom sector.

Jio Fiber is currently not commercially available and is only live on a preview basis in major cities like Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, Ahmedabad, Jamnagar, Surat, and Vadodara, etc. As per Jio, the telecom operator had received over 15 million registrations from 1,600 towns during the beta phase and now, the company claims that it will be reaching out to 20 million residents within these towns commercially in the next 12 months.

Free Movies for JioFiber Customers: Now, Watch movies at your home the same day they released

First-day-first-show movie release seems too ambitious as theatres demand an eight-week exclusive window. We will have to see how Jio will circumvent this issue. So, sentimentally, the announcement is negative for PVR and Inox Leisure, but we are not worried yet,” Dokania said. “Pricing (of JioFiber) is attractive but not jaw-dropping and hence, all other broadband players will not have to shut shop tomorrow,” said Rohit Dokania, senior vice-president for research at IDFC Securities.

He, however, added that one has to wait and see what is being offered in the Rs 700 plan.

At the meeting, Reliance Jio also announced that the landline service with Jio Fiber will be offered to customers with free voice calling benefits for life. This could phone service would be bundled with all plans, starting with the most basic Jio Fiber plan that starts at 100MBPS speed and priced at Rs 700.

The company has also announced Free Movies for JioFiber customers. Premium JioFiber Customers can watch new movies at home the same day they are released in theaters. This service will be launched in the …

WhatsApp Fingerprint Activation: How to activate WhatsApp’s ‘fingerprint authentication’ feature

WhatsApp Fingerprint Activation: WhatsApp has rolled out a new feature for its Android beta users. According to a report, the Facebook-owned messaging app has finally released the Fingerprint Lock feature in the latest Beta version of the Android app. The feature has reached the beta users after it was spotted as a hidden feature few weeks back. It is being reported that there are many other features along with this that WhatsApp is working on currently.

However, it’s important to note that WhatsApp has already released this update for its iOS beta users and launch for all iPhone users may be under progress. This new feature of Whatsapp Fingerprint Activation not only adds an extra layer of security for the users of the world’s most popular messaging app but will also make the popular third party locking apps redundant. This new development comes six months after biometric authentication was introduced in the WhatsApp iOS app.

The feature is available for all Android beta users who are currently using version 2.19.221 of the app.

It further add that beta users can double-check the version by clicking App info which can be found under “Help” which will be available in the settings icon. Android users who are not using this version of the app will have to upgrade their app by going to the Google Play Store. But if you still are unable to find the feature then it is suggested that you delete your app and reinstall it. After that, you will have to go to the “Privacy” section where you will see the “Account” option and then you will be able to activate the feature.

You can then select how often you would like to authenticate your identity to use the app. The available choices are to “automatically lock” you out of WhatsApp “Immediately”, “after 1 minute” or “after 30 minutes” of inactivity. For instance, if you chose the first option, the app will ask for your fingerprint every time you open it. While this is ideal if you are big on privacy, it could get annoying for those who use it frequently. However, you can still answer WhatsApp calls without this authentication.

Once users activate the fingerprint feature then they will have to authenticate it by putting their finger on the scanner. Another important feature about this upgrade is that it will users will be able to hide the text …

Zero Balance Savings account Rules: Banks New Rules relaxed by RBI

Zero Balance Savings account: The Reserve Bank of India has come out with a new advisory note which states that Basic Savings Bank Deposit (BSBD) accounts in all Primary (Urban) Co-operative Banks and all State or Central Co-operative Banks have to adhere to the new relaxed rules.

Zero Balance Savings account Rules: Banks New Rules relaxed by RBI

The BSBD Account, also referred to as the zero-balance account, is a kind of a savings account which offers certain banking facilities, free of charge, to the account holders. There is no penalty for non-maintenance of a minimum balance in the zero balance savings account. The zero balance account can be opened in any bank.

RBI has decided to make certain changes in the facilities associated with the BSBD account and has asked the banks to offer certain basic minimum facilities in the BSBD account, free of charge, without any requirement of minimum balance. RBI has also clarified that the BSBD account shall be considered a normal banking service available to all. A zero-balance account suits those who do not wish to maintain a minimum balance in their account and have limited transactions in their account.

The basic minimum facilities in the zero balance account to be effective from September 1, 2019 will be:

  1. Deposit of cash at bank branch as well as ATMs or Cash Deposit Machines.
  2. Receipt or credit of money through any electronic channel or by means of deposit or collection of cheques drawn by Central or State Government agencies and departments.
  3. No limit on number and value of deposits that can be made in a month.
  4. Minimum of four withdrawals in a month, including ATM withdrawal.

Additionally, if a bank wants to provide additional value-added services, including the issue of cheque book etc, it may do so with or without extra cost. However, such additional services will not make it a non-BSBD Account, so long as the prescribed minimum services are provided free of charge. The bank cannot insist the account holders in maintaining a minimum balance of additional services are provided in the zero-balance account.

As a zero-balance account holder, one is not eligible for opening any other savings bank deposit account in that bank. It means one can have either a savings account or BSBD account but not both of them. If you have a savings account in a bank but wish to open zero balance account, you will have to close the savings account within …

NEFT 24X7: RBI to make NEFT available 24×7 in boost to digital payments

NEFT 24×7: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) plans to make the online payment system, the National Electronic Funds Transfer (NEFT), available 24×7, in what may provide a boost to the government’s digital payments plan.

As mentioned in the Payment System Vision 2021 document, the Reserve Bank will make available the NEFT system on a 24×7 basis from December 2019. This is expected to revolutionize the retail payments system of the country,” the RBI said in a release on Wednesday.

NEFT 24X7: RBI to make NEFT available 24×7 in boost to digital paymentsCome December and you will be able to make National Electronic Funds Transfer (NEFT) every day of the week and at any time. Unlike now, when you have to schedule your NEFT payments after the cut-off time, which goes through the next working day, the time limit is going to be scrapped soon, the RBI said.

If RBI makes NEFT 24×7, it will not only ease the fund transfer for customers round the clock but will also take some load-off the bank branches for executing such transactions.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) in its Statement on Regulatory and Developmental Policies issued on August 7, 2019, has stated that there will be round-the-clock availability of the National Electronic Funds Transfer System from December 2019.

Current Limits:

  • Customers can transfer anywhere between Rs 1 and Rs 25 lakh via NEFT (for HDFC Bank; varies from bank to bank) through net banking in a day.
  • Through RTGS, they can transfer between Rs 2 lakh and Rs 25 lakh through net banking in a day.
  • However, as of now, these online transactions are not available on Sundays, on the second and fourth Saturdays of every month and on bank holidays.

At present, transfer of funds via NEFT is dependent on bank working hours. The facility of electronic transfer of funds is available from 8.00 am to 7.00 pm on all working days of the week, except the second and fourth Saturdays in a month and hence they restrict customers’ ability to carry out such transactions.

    • Online RTGS transactions are available for lesser hours. It can be done till 4 pm (varies from bank to bank).

Options Currently available:

  • Customers can currently transfer money through Immediate Payment Service (IMPS) round the clock but the maximum amount allowed is Rs 2 lakh.
  • If RBI makes NEFT 24×7, it will not only ease the fund transfer for customers round the clock but will also take
